I really don't enjoy cleaning, so using fancy ways and products just aren't my gig. I love good, old soap and water and a nice fragrance. That's all it takes to quickly clean your fake plants before you decorate with them!

Clean your Artificial Plants with Soap and Water

Fill up your sink with your favorite dish soap and hot water. I love Mrs. Meyers in whatever scent is seasonal. The green, fresh scents are usually what I gravitate towards in the spring; Apple, Parsley, Lemon Verbena.

Determine the Base of your Artificial Plants

Evaluate whether your greens can be totally submerged depending on what the base is. My topiaries were all plastic with a grapevine neck and my wreath was also the same material. Even styrofoam is fine to get wet.

Submerge your artificial plants in the sudsy water and give them a bath. With your fingers, rub the leaves and disrupt the dust and spiderwebs. If you have some parts that maybe shouldn't be submerged, just rub those leaves with some soapy water between your fingers. I didn't submerge the clay pots of my topiaries because I didn't want them to soak up water. I just submerged the top round part and then cleaned the bottom leaves between my fingers. I also rubbed the moss tops a little with wet fingers to disrupt any dust that had collected there.

Rinse & Dry your Faux Foliage

Once you're done, rinse with hot water and drip dry.
